World Braille Day – Special Amateur Radio Activity 

On the occasion of World Braille Day, we organize a special amateur radio activity dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of Braille, a universal system that enables blind and visually impaired people to read, write and communicate independently.

Braille, developed by Louis Braille in the 19th century, remains a powerful symbol of accessibility, education and equal opportunities. Today it continues to play a vital role in promoting inclusion and participation in social, cultural and professional life.

Through amateur radio contacts, we wish to support the idea of accessibility and social inclusion, and to draw attention to the needs and achievements of people with visual impairments. Amateur radio, like Braille, connects people beyond physical barriers and brings communities together across borders.
This activity is an invitation to radio amateurs around the world to join us in commemorating World Braille Day and to share the values of communication, solidarity and respect.
